Breathe the Beat will be launching on Saturday 23 July, in Birmingham’s Victoria Square, as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend that marks the start of the one year countdown to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012.
The Breathe the Beat dancers will be showing off their moves inspired by Salah’s groundbreaking new digital project. With YouTube videos of his performances counting views in the millions, Salah’s latest online adventure will enable dancers to take inspiration from their every day surroundings and create routines using his unique PABE (Popping, Animation, Boogaloo, Effect) style.
The Breathe the Beat dancers will be performing three times during the day on 23 July on a stage near the Big Screen, in Victoria Square: 11.30am – 11.50am, 2.50pm – 3.10pm, 4.10pm – 4.30pm. There will also be a screening of the trailer for the project, as well as an introduction and Q&A with DanceXchange Artistic Director David Massingham.
